You should also be reviewing a lot more fashion magazines as well. December is generally the time of year that many publishers begin to make their predictions for the upcoming year. You’ll also get an idea of what that particular magazine looks for in its models and the type of content they’ll publish.

The British catwalker tried to block former maid Gaby Gibson from bringing up Campbell’s history of dust-ups with people who work for her, saying it was “scandalous and prejudicial.” But in a ruling published Wednesday, Manhattan state Supreme Court Judge Michael Stallman said previous incidents could be admitted.

“Those alleged acts might be relevant to the issues of intent and the need for future deterrence,” Stallman wrote.

Gibson was “very happy” about Stallman’s ruling, said her lawyer, Lambros Lambrou.

Campbell’s Past Can Be Raise in Lawsuit

Frankly, this does’t bode well for Naomi because her attitude in the past has been…less than stellar. This is a great example of being careful what you say and do because it could come back to bite you in the ass.

New upcoming fashion house out of LA – Rocket Baby (R.I.B Wear) – is looking for models of all ethnicities for initial shoots and possibly ongoing work. First shoots will be TFCD/TFP and used on the main company site, possibly some print, and promotional material. High potential for paid future shoots, and spokes models roles.

The lines will be couture and casual, raceway inspired outfits; targeting a high glam/high fashion market. Currently tying in celebrity endorsement and getting ready to launch.

She declared her disdain for the practice of selecting white models over black models for various magazine covers. It’s almost as if the double standard for black models still exists in this day and age and Naomi believes that black beauty has been sidelined in the fashion industry.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has vowed to set up her own modelling agency in her beloved Kenya in an attempt to redress the balance between black and white fashion models.

She made her fiery voice loud and clear (once again), after telling a Kenyan journalist earlier this week. “It’s a pity that people don’t appreciate black beauty.” She continued. “There is prejudice. It is a problem and I can’t go along anymore with brushing it under the carpet.”

Campbell, notorious for her temper tantrums and who has earned a lucrative living as one of the world’s most famous black models, was speaking at a press conference in the beach resort of Malindi, Kenya, where she is on holiday.

The 37-year-old said she found it harder to get onto the coveted front cover as editors of magazines like Vogue consistently chose less prominent white models for news stand impact.

She is very right about one thing: this business is about selling. If your face can’t sell the magazine or product, the chances of you getting hired by a publisher are slim to none. The best thing you can do about it is press forward and make sure that put your best face forward.

Though we’re not entirely Naomi fans around here (she’s pretty, but her attitude can use an overhaul), we are proud of what she’s doing. Diversity is a good thing — air-brushing black women to make them look lighter on magazine covers is not.

While publishers remain convinced that white women won’t buy a magazine with a black woman on the cover, it is going to take more than a model with a reputation for having a bit of a temper to change their minds.

Someone better tell all those white women who subscribe to O Magazine that Oprah Winfrey’s black and she’s on the cover of every issue.

Three lucky young ladies have been chosen to represent the new Hilary Duff tween clothing line.

TORONTO (CP) – Three girls have been selected to represent Hilary Duff’s tween clothing line Stuff by Hilary Duff.Duff, who recently released her fourth studio album “Dignity,” along with representatives from Zellers and Ford Models, chose the winners from among more than 3,000 contestants. Anna Iliscupidez, 12, of Red Deer, Alta., six-year-old Emma Gallagher of Harvey, N.B., and Nicole Kent, 11, of St. Catharines, Ont., were the winners.

“Picking the winners was really hard to do. There were so many girls with great photos and amazing essays. I loved reading what everyone had to say,” Duff said in a news release.

Anna, Emma and Nicole each get a $1,000 shopping spree, a chance to meet Duff in Toronto and a professional photo shoot with hair, makeup and Stuff by Hilary Duff wardrobe. The photos will be featured in a Zellers circular, as well as online at hilaryduff.com and Zellers.com.

Twelve runners-up will receive Duff products including fragrance, her latest CD and her fashion doll.
