Alexandria Levingston’s Epitome Models story is a truly inspiring one and shows the true potential in having a dream and following through with it. Now, she is hosting the Epitome Models 2005 International Fashion Model Search.
Whilst Alexandria is always looking for the next great face of fashion, she has a very specific idea of what the next Epitome model will exemplify. For a model to be considered, Alexandria looks at everything from hair, skin, nails, teeth and figure to being well versed and articulate. Chosen models are often sent abroad to strengthen their books and develop skills. [continue reading Alexandria’s story]
The model search contestants have a chance to win a $100,000 modeling contract, become a spokesmodel for Jahkur fragrance, be featured on Seventeen magazine’s Check It Out promotional listings, and a 7 day all expenses paid vacation to Kauai (think you need a vacation yet?).
If you’re a girl between 14-22 years of age, and think you may be what Epitome Models is looking for, take a moment to enter the model search.

Kate Moss has checked into The Meadows (a rehab located in Arizona). It’s being said that she was abusing illegal narcotics, the length of time is unclear.
The police raided a studio where she supposedly participated in drug abuse while she is away getting treatment.
From a career standpoint, abusing drugs is one of the worse things a model can do (although it happens far more than we think). Drugs can do many things to a model, to include deteriorate her looks which is the foundation of most models’ careers as well as mental faculties.
I truly hope that the models out there who look up to her wake up, smell the coffee, and learn from her mistakes.

When I flip on the television or open a magazine I see sex appeal. Sometimes in gaudy amounts, and sometimes it makes me wince, and I’m no prude.
Sometimes I wonder what the industry is thinking as the level of sexually provocative and suggestive material is published each day and it seems to get worse with each passing year. Soon we’ll be selling magazines with cover models wearing little more than two pieces of string and a patch as if it were nothing.
It’s nice to know that we do have some people in the industry looking out for what our teens read and absorb. AgapePress has a nice interview with the editorial director Jana Pettey of Justine magazine.
Q: After reading an issue of Justine, what do you hope the readers take with them?
A: I hope she feels good about herself. I hope that she doesn’t feel like that she’s always having to compare herself to someone else [and] that we are providing things in Justine that make her feel good about the person that she is.
Sounds like a good answer to me - head over there and have a read, you may learn something new and interesting and possibly something that can help your career in the long run.

Caution and care always needs to be taken when you’re starting out in the modeling industry. Heck, caution and care needs to be taken when you’re going through life, period. But recently a model was brutally attacked and murdered very near to her own home.
A pretty 18-year-old model who described herself as the “happiest girl in the world” and dreamed of becoming a supermodel was stabbed to death in a savage attack just yards from her home.
Sally Anne Bowman, who had already taken her first promising steps in catwalk modelling, was knifed in a leafy suburban street as she returned from a night out with friends.
The stunning 6ft blonde teenager was heard screaming by neighbours in the early hours of Sunday and her body was found on the pavement… [continue reading]
Sally Anne’s story is a tragic reminder that we all need to take care of ourselves and be constantly aware of our surroundings and our actions. Be well and be safe.
