Yet Another Model Reality TV Show

Riding on the success of America’s Next Top Model, model reality shows have been coming out of the woodwork (proof here and here), not to mention that the ANTM brand is sweeping through various countries including Canada, Brittain, Australia, and even Spain.

At least this upcoming model reality show will put its own unique spin on the ANTM concept by limiting contestants to the 35 and over crowd. Yep, folks — this show, called 35 and Beyond Super Model Search is about to prove that you’re really never too old to tame a catwalk.

The show, spawned from the creative minds of TV Land, want to cater to their older demographic. This show will follow a similar format as ANTM with challenges, eliminations, and a modeling contract as the grand price, however, we’re sure there’s going to be a lot less catty-ness. (Because, we’re assuming, that women are supposed to mature as they get older…but we could be wrong.)

Kris from BuddyTV posits the question, “could [35 and Beyond Super Model Search] be a major threat to the currently reigning America’s Next Top Model?” Er…that’d be a no.

The agency isn’t exclusive to models, it will also represent — as if you couldn’t guess from its name — various talent including actors and singers. This may be a good opportunity for all you multi-talented models out there.

* The L.A. branch will not be accepting models. (Please see first comment below.)

An Upgrade and Changes

Behind the scenes, work has been done to Another Model Resource. We’ve received a face lift, the software that powers the website has been upgraded, and we’ve been filtering through the onslaught of comment spam.

If you left a comment and it didn’t appear right away, you have our apologies; everything should be cleared up now and comments will be appearing in more reasonable amounts of time.

Another Model Resource will also be launching an advertising program soon and expanding our topics of discussion. There is still more to come, so keep your eyes peeled and ears perked for future updates.

VH1 Model Casting Call

If you’re a male or femal model (or aspiring model), listen up. VH1 is looking for some models for an upcoming reality show. They are looking for all types of models, so don’t be shy. See here for the details.

(As with all opportunities, make sure to do your due diligence. Can’t say we didn’t warn you first.)

It’s Time Models Took Better Care of Themselves

Since we’re in love with the modeling industry here at Another Model Resource, it may seem like blasphemy to say it, but it’s about damn time someone made these models eat and it’s about damn time someone realized that a woman with some meat on her bones can be a good thing.

There is a major difference between just right and morbidly obese. For the longest time, the modeling industry never made a distinction between the two and anyone above a size 7 was thrust into the latter category.

John Lewis is proudly displaying, what the industry would call, a plus size model on the runway in his fashion show. The model, by human standards, is certainly not fat or out of shape in the least, but she is a size 12. Go John!
