Another Model Resource

Kate Moss has announced that she will be shocking the world by launching her own fashion label.

She is alleged to have recently said: “I’m going to take everyone on and I’m going to shock everyone.

“I know what works, I know what women want, and I know there is money to be made. My name is my brand and it’s going to be the biggest thing in fashion.”

A close friend told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “No contracts have been signed yet, so there is no launch date - although she is looking at getting something underway by next year. But everyone around her is being really positive about the whole thing. They think it will just grow and grow.”

Well, I remember her shocking the world in a much different way, hopefully this new endeavor goes over much better.

If you haven’t guessed it from reading last week’s entry on America’s Next Top Model, I’m favouring Nnenna for this season of ANTM.

This week, she managed to steal the show again by winning the $5,000 shopping spree and taking yet another amazing picture.

I’m starting to think she’s either: a) not a real person; or b) a shill model. She’s damn near perfect…maybe even too perfect.

Another Model Resource is now a part of the Suddenly Someone blog network which is preparing to launch very soon.

Some of the blogs within the network include an actor’s blog and a model’s blog.

The Suddenly Someone blog network is geared toward those in or interested in the entertainment industry and those looking to gain more world wide (and even local) exposure.

Since it’s still in the moderate formative stages, there isn’t much to see yet - but applications for new sign ups will be open soon.

Another Model Resource will be updated periodically to reflect this.

Just caught MTV’s new show called 8th & Ocean and it looks like it’s going to be *ouch* HOT.

I missed the initial premier of the show (oops…didn’t even have it written in my planner), but luckily MTV understands people can be absent minded and they are showing it about a billion more times over the next few days.

Normally I’m not keen on ripoff shows trying to capitalize on an already good thing, but 8th & Ocean looks as though it will be different. It shows you exactly what a day in the modeling industry is like with only a little glitzy sugarcoating.

When Irene told Sabrina that when she’s being paid as a model, she is supposed to know what to do, I wanted to give Irene a standing ovation.

People - modeling is harsh. The only way to succeed in the industry is to learn this lesson, learn it quickly, and get over it.

But damn, it’s nothing to cry about. It really isn’t personal. It may seem like the epitome of a personal attack when you get rejected, but it’s really not - it’s about the business and what’s good for their business.

Now, about those models…

So far, the only guy I’m digging is Vinci. If it was a competition, he’d probably win on straight looks alone. Adrian and Teddy look a little too feminine for my personal tastes, and Sean just looks a little too sweet and childlike. I guess I’m just a manly man kind of girl.

Sabrina needs to grow a thicker skin if she wants to make it and take the advice given to her as that, advice.

I’m still out to lunch on Kelly. Nothing about her personality particularly stood out for me, aside from her liking to gloat.

Britt is adorable in every respect of the word - from her sweet wholesome attitude to her big doe eyes and her perfect Pepsodent smile.

I’m a little upset that we didn’t get to see more of the other models. This episode just focused on about five models (Adrian, Britt, Kelly, Sabrina, and Sean) - sure we caught glimpses of the other models, but I would have liked to get to know their on camera personalities a little better. I guess that’s what the rest of the season is for.

I do have another gripe with the show - what’s up with the camera shaking? Sure, it was cute the first few seconds, but after fifteen minutes it’s just straight up annoying. If I wasn’t epileptic before, I am now. MTV, hire better cameramen.

Hopefully they fix that jiggly camera issue before next week. In any event, watch it, learn from it, prepare yourself for the modeling world.

Nnenna.

I absolutely love Nnenna and I’ll be rooting for her the entire season. She’s so androgynous - but in a very good, beautiful way.

Slap some make up on her and she’s gorgeous, slap a beard and mustache on her and she’d probably be one sexy man. Amazing.

But since we live in the real world and chances are, the judges may not share my viewpoint completely, we should look at the other options.

So far this season, I’m feeling that girl who looks like a Bratz doll (Kari). I don’t think she’ll make it to the end, but I just love her lips - and her eyes.

Jade needs to check herself before she wrecks herself (yea, I just yanked that phrase from the early nineties). Not saying she’s a bitch or anything because I haven’t met her and I don’t know her, but she really isn’t that beautiful. Yes, she’s pretty, more so than average, but she isn’t all that - and “humble” (inside or out) is the last thing she is.

Though I haven’t said it yet, I’m truly vibin’ with Danielle - ghetto fabulous in the true sense of the word. F.a.b.u.l.o.u.s. If Nnenna doesn’t go all the way and personality is all we were going on, then Danielle is certainly my next choice.

If we had to throw personality out the window and go on straight beauty (and Nnenna wasn’t an available choice), then definitely Wendy. She just looks too exotically beautiful not to be the obvious choice.

This season looks like it’s going to be a lot better than last season. I couldn’t even make it past the first three episodes of last season.

I think Tyra kicked a few people’s asses to get ANTM back into shape - good job Tyra.
